The overall scope encompassed historical, biblical and mythical perspectives of history. It was printed in Frankfurt by Philipp Heinrich Hutter 1743-59 from plates acquired from Matthäus Merian the Elder's "Theatrum Europaeum". The folio size leaf measures 355 x 205 mm. There is a 105 x 140 mm. wood cut depicting Mithridates IV killing his son Machares. The verso contains the same type and layout.
